27 Aug LOCK DOWN SURPRISES
With the threat of certain death from lack of social distancing during the Covid19 pandemic, people went into self isolation. Working from home, not going out, not seeing friends or relations, it was hell! Couples who had been together for years suddenly discovered that they had little in common but they were stuck with it!
Bill and Amy Worthington made the best job that they could, Bill was an Architect and worked from home anyway but Amy was a high flyer in the business world commuting into London every day until late. So when she arrived home dinner was ready, prepared by Bill. A chat over the meal was followed by a bit of watching the TV with a drink. This was rounded off by an early night ready for another day in the morning.
Allan and Julie West lived next door and their situation was the reverse.
Julie worked from home as a proof-reader and Allan worked long hours in his business as an insurance risk assessor, very often away until late. Whatever time he got in Julie had a meal ready on the table followed by a bit of watching the TV with a drink. This was rounded off by an early night ready for another day in the morning.
Those were their routines and they worked as an ideal arrangement.
As neighbours they were friends, regularly meeting at either house, through the gate which joined both of their patios, at weekends for a drink and an interesting evening discussing the weeks’ events.
Sex was a Saturday night or Sunday morning thing if you know what I mean, no time or energy during the week.
But Bill and Julie had their own little ‘arrangement’. Every day they waved goodbye to their respective partners, then when everything was quiet usually about 9.30 they ‘got together’. It didn’t matter which house, whoever took the initiative the gate in the back gardens was very convenient and private. There was a tap tap on either of the kitchen doors, much kissing and tearing off each other’s clothes then they had the best uninhibited sex wherever they ended up. After that a delicious cup of coffee then they got on with the rest of their day. It was very convenient and mutually enjoyable and no real harm done.
Now all that had changed, lockdown was in place, no going to work, going out or socialising. Cafes, Pubs, non essential shops all closed only food shopping was allowed and cars were doing three weeks to the gallon! But it was for everybody’s safety and hopefully it wouldn’t be for long.
The Worthingtons and the Wests could only speak over the fence maintaining at least six foot apart. The girls started to have lunch ‘together’ each in their own gardens sat at a small table with a sandwich, bowl of crisps and an orange juice or coffee. It was quite fun at first. The boys were doing work in the house, garden or shed independently, then enjoying a socially distanced can of beer or two together over the hedge at the end of the day.
One lunch time about a week or two into lockdown Amy seemed very excited about something and bursting to tell Julie all about it.
“Listen Julie please don’t repeat this but I think this lockdown is having a really good reaction on Bill you know.
“In what way?” said Julie
“Well this morning I was just bending over the washing machine when he came up behind me and well you know. It wasn’t only the clothes that got an extra long spin if you follow me”
“Blimey” said Julie “What time was this?”
“About nine thirty it started, then he chased me into the hallway and we did it up against the front door, finally he carried me over his shoulder to the bedroom! After all that we had a lovely cup of coffee then he went to work upstairs. I can’t wait until tomorrow”
CRASH!! Julie’s bowl of crisps hit the patio smashing into a thousand pieces.
“Slipped out of my hand” said Julie “You know I’m not very hungry today, in fact I can feel a headache coming on, I think I’ll go and have a lie down”
“Oh O.K. in you go I hope you feel better soon” Amy tucked into her lunch with unusual gusto, she needed to keep her strength up!
That afternoon Bill was in the garden pruning his roses but he was on his own. About four thirty a rather dishevelled Allan appeared in his own garden.
“Are you all right mate?” asked Bill “You look a bit fraught”
“It’s Julie” said Allan “I don’t know what’s come over her, but I’m not complaining!”
“Why what’s happened?”
“I don’t know but we’ve just had the best sex for years, she did things that I didn’t know she knew about, it was the best ever”
SNIP!! One of Bills prize blooms flew into the air!
“I asked her where she learned that stuff and she said that she picked it up from some of the books she had been reading for her work. Anyway I could really sink a can of beer or two right now!”
“Not for me mate my stomach has been playing up today” with that Bill went indoors.
The remaining weeks of lockdown were spent socially distancing and the ‘novelty’ lunches and working afternoons faded into the past.
Then the rules were relaxed at last, people were allowed to go back to work and out to the shops which were all re-opening.
Allan and Amy prepared to go back to their commuting routine and hopefully some normality would return.
Monday morning Bill kissed Amy goodbye and Julie sent Allan on his way, back to the grindstone for both of them.
At about nine thirty, Bill tentatively tapped on Julie’s kitchen door, it opened.
“Well that was a long time darling, I’ve missed you loads…..”
“DON’T YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT IT YOU SWINE!”
“ME! YOU’RE THE ONE WHO SHAGGED YOUR WAY THROUGH THE WHOLE THING!
“I’VE HEARD ABOUT YOUR RAMPANT MORNING ROMPS FOLLOWED BY A NICE CUP OF COFFEE BEFORE YOU GO TO WORK. WELL YOU’LL GET NO COFFEE HERE. NOR ANYTHING ELSE! ON YER BIKE!
“AND I’VE HEARD ABOUT YOUR ADVENTUROUS SEXUAL PREFERENCES COULDN’T GET ENOUGH ACCORDING TO ALLAN, I DON’T WANT COFFEE OR ANYTHING ELSE FROM YOU. IN FACT I JUST CAME ROUND TO TELL YOU THAT WE WILL BE PUTTING THE HOUSE ON THE MARKET WHENEVER THE MARKET COMES BACK!
With that he stormed out of the kitchen slamming the door and the gate as he went.
It had been a long first day in the office in London for both Allan and Amy.
There was a gentle tap on the office door Allan glanced at the clock, four thirty. The door opened and Amy came in.
“What a strange feeling after being locked up for three months” she said with a smile, “But I’m glad to be back”
“It’s good to see you properly forget social distancing, come here I’ve missed making love for over three months” he lied.
“And I feel neglected and need satisfaction” she lied back.
They embraced, kissing and caressing each others’ bodies undoing clothing then collapsing on to the sofa, finally making passionate love as they had been doing every day before the pandemic had restricted their activities.
